Studying & teaching

Within the teaching portfolio of the Research Group “School Education within the Context of Heterogeneity”, the courses below are offered: “teaching and didactics in heterogeneous learning groups”, “education diagnostics”, “transformation processes in the education system”, “laboratory of field studies II (LaG)” in addition to courses addressing questions of diversity studies.

How the courses are incorporated into the study regulations can be looked up in the module handbooks for the respective degree programmes (such as Bachelor of Arts Pädagogik (pedagogy), Master of Arts Bildungswissenschaften (educational sciences), Teacher Education for Vocational Schools B.Ed/M.Ed and Teacher Education for Secondary Schools (LaG) etc.).

Practical Period Meeting

When studying to become a teacher, several laboratories of field studies and school practical studies at school are part of the curriculum. These practical periods are prepared and followed-up in supportive seminars. To ensure consistent teaching of contents and core competencies across all modules taught within a teacher education programme and the laboratory of field studies and school practical studies, these practical period meetings were established as a network of the teaching staff in teacher education programmes (professors and research associates (WiMi) of the university and seconded teachers providing support in the practical periods). During this laboratory meeting, cross-sectional contents, university teaching methodology and research projects on teaching are being introduced and discussed. The aim is to offer students a progressive teaching programme that does not overlap in content.
