The first school practical aims for:
- Critically examining your aptitude for the teaching profession;
- Experiencing and reflecting on “school” as a professional field and field of action, particularly with regard to the key tasks of and demands on the teaching profession;
- Linking theoretical course contents and hands-on school lessons’ experience;
- Putting your own teaching activities to the test in exemplary teaching/learning scenarios;
- Analysing learning processes and lesson developments, including exploratory learning;
- Critically reflecting your future role as a teacher, including reflecting and shaping your own professional development and growth;

Numerous schools in the Rhine-Main Area cooperate with TU Darmstadt to make these school practicals (internships) possible. Students are not assigned to a specific school for their practical, but have to apply for a placement via our online practical placement . With the first school practical, students have the opportunity to get to know their future “school” field of action from a new perspective early on in their studies. The School Practical (internship) aims for initiating the role change from student to teacher; thus, opening various opportunities to examine and think about your wish to become a teacher in a controlled environment. exchange
This education-based module brings together students in teacher education programmes from all fields of science; thus, providing ample opportunities for networking.
