The Vocational Education and VET Research department primarily focuses on processes of four key areas: vocational socialization, vocational education and training research, professionalisation, and occupation and language. Our research is predominantly empirical, employing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and utilizing a triangulation of methods.

  • Vocational socialization with a focus on the development of vocational aspirations and interests, vocational orientation and career choice
  • Structures, organisation, paradigms and developments in VET research
  • Professionalisation of teachers and educational staff, person-related occupations
  • Occupations and language: requirements, diagnostics and support
