The “Praxisphase II” was developed within the scope of the MINTplus project in collaboration with Dr.in Olga Zitzelsberger, Lea Belz and Patrick Wölfelschneider. “Praxisphase II” is one of the three practical training modules within the teacher training programs of TU Darmstadt. Since the summer semester of 2021 the module has been under the responsibility of Prof.in Dr. Katja Adl-Amini, Department of School Education within the Context of Heterogenity. Contact persons and lecturers are Christian Vollrath and Julia Kadel.

The implementation of “Praxisphase II” is funded by the HMWK within the QuiS-project “EDuStart”.

Focus Areas of Laboratory of Field Studies II

Laboratory of Field Studies II – Extracurricular Practical Studies – is a practical module that should be completed between the third and fifth semester of the LaG programme (teacher education for secondary schools). The module is part of a preparatory qualification (basic and consolidating seminar), a practical assignment at the university and a (reflection) seminar accompanying the practical assignment to further the students’ (self) reflection competence.

Basic seminar

What? - Looking into the underlying theories to plan teaching-learning arrangements in group processes by getting to know the fundamentals of didactics and theories of education in addition to communication models.

When? - Prior to the practical assignment (from 3rd semester acc. to prescribed period of study).

Why? - In preparation for the role as tutor and the practical assignment at extracurricular learning venues.

Consolidating seminar

What? - Field-specific preparation for their respective practical assignment (such as training, workshops or seminars as necessary).

When? - Building on the basic seminar and prior to the practical assignment.

Why? – Specific preparation adapted to chosen practical assignment.

Reflection seminar

What? - Getting to know theoretical fundamentals used to analyse own teaching action alongside intensive casework.

When? – Concurrent format parallel to use in practice when teaching and learning at university.

Why? – Developing and/or intensifying personal reflection competence regarding teaching attitude and possible responses and/or actions .

Wichtig:

Für das Modul “Praxisphase 2” ist ein Praxiseinsatz erforderlich, welcher in der tutoriellen Lehre an der Universität stattfinden soll. Die Bewerbung auf einen Praxiseinsatz erfolgt am Besten während des Besuches der Veranstaltung “Qualifizierung Basis”. Es muss sich selbstständig auf (mehrere) Stellen beworben werden, vorzugsweise mit Motivationsschreiben und Lebenslauf (eine Ablehnung auf die Bewerbung ist auch möglich). Die Zeiträume der Praxiseinsätze können variieren, diese sind den Stellenausschreibungen zu entnehmen (diese sind unten gelistet).

Weitere Hinweise:

  • Die TUCaN-Anmeldung zum Vertiefungsseminar sollte nach Bestätigung des Praxiseinsatzes erfolgen. Das Vertiefungsseminar wird von der jeweiligen Einsatzstelle organisiert und findet zu einem individuellen Zeitpunkt statt. 
  • Nicht alle Fachbereiche sind Kooperationspartner. Bei Unsicherheiten entweder beim jeweiligen Fachbereich oder bei den Modulverantwortlichen nachfragen.
  • Der Praxiseinsatz wird vergütet und fließt damit in die Anzahl der Stunden, die gearbeitet werden dürfen, mit ein.
  • Es dürfen insgesamt nicht mehr als 20 Stunden/Woche gearbeitet werden, d.h. der Praxiseinsatz muss mit weiteren Jobs koordiniert werden. Bei Unsicherheiten empfiehlt sich eine Absprache mit der Krankenkasse.
